We were delighted to receive a letter from the King's Arms Project this week.
The young people and staff at our Oracle School in Bedfordshire collected items to support the projects clients over the Christmas period. The King's Arms project supports 650 homeless and disadvantaged clients, and were able to provide cooked breakfasts and Christmas dinner over the festive session.
The Fundraising Officer said,
"Our clients were greatly appreciative of the items that you collected and I'd like to thank the whole school for really getting behind this."
Well Done everyone!
We were pleased to welcome a good mix of professionals at our first Careers Expo. There was representation from the uniform services (Fire and Rescue), vocational sector (a chef) and an engineer. Students were highly engaged and conducted themselves really well. They now have a written career plan, motivated by professionals.
Professionals feedback was impressive as seen below:
‘I really enjoyed the morning and found the pupils to be very well mannered and reflected well on the school. Overall the format was good and in particular I think gave students who were interested in a subject a chance to learn more about it first-hand. I hope you will invite me back next time you run a similar event.’
Ben Yates- Engineer.
‘The event was, in my opinion, a great success. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the experience and loved sharing my experience with the students, who were all extremely well behaved and interested in everything I had to say. I very much look forward to being involved with any future events you organise.’
Robert Slater Meal Time-Chef
‘What a pleasure it was to work with your students today! They were all engaged, polite and hardworking a credit to your school! Once again thank-you for your hospitality today and please thank all staff for looking after me so well!’
Boydell Gillian- independent careers Officer.
