World Book Day 2018

Students enjoyed World Book day 2018 with an interesting twist this year.

Students were asked to use there knowledge of staff and try to match them with their favourite books.
While staff were modelling good reading habbits it also gave to students a different insight into their teachers.

There is a lovely display of the day to remind pupils of the acitivities and to inspire them to read a range of books.

The winners were Max with first place and Mark with second. Well done to everyone who took part and thanks to the staff for their hard work and support.

A great day was had by all!

Be Inspired - Awards Evening

Our Bedfordshire school celebrated the students’ success under the theme ‘Be Inspired.’

The event saw students past and present students receiving a range of awards from subject awards to top achievement in KS3 and KS4.

They were entertained by the talented Dr Fiona (Oracles own English and History Teacher at Silsoe). One guest remarked, “I have never heard the flute played so professionally.”

The guest speaker, Dr Charles, inspired the students using the life story of Charles Darwin. His overall message can be summarised through the quote,

“It is not how good you are it is how good you want to be!”

Head teacher, Lisa Patterson-Igwe, was delighted with the number of people who attended and gives thanks to those who helped to make the event so positive and to those who took the time to join them.
