Bring and Share Welcome Back Lunch

The summer term started with all staff and young people getting together in our Cheshire School. A 'Bring and Share' lunch was organised to welcome everyone back to school.

Lots of staff contributed to create a great spread of food from healthy fruit and veg to a few not so healthy treats such as pizza and chips. We also had cup-cakes decorated with the 7 principles of our Oracle Model, which were delicious! It was a lively gathering and a great opportunity to engage with our colleagues and students over a lovely buffet lunch.

Everyone got something out of it... not just a lovely lunch but the opportunity to talk about what they had done over the holidays and what they were looking forward to over the summer term.

Bedford School ISI Result: Fully Compliant

We are delighted to announce that, following a full ISA inspection of our Silsoe school on both compliance and quality, we have been awarded the result of Fully Compliant.

We have achieved this through the hard work, dedication and support of all of our staff, to whom we are very grateful, and we were pleased to share the great result with them in a pre-Easter celebration.

The full report is available to read under the Education section of our website, however the findings below give a flavour of its content:

The quality of the pupils’ personal development is EXCELLENT

The quality of the pupils' academic achievement and other achievements is GOOD

Easter Examination Prep

While the sun is shining and some people are enjoying the Easter break from school some of our Key Stage 4 students are in school preparing for the summer examinations.

Staff have kindly given students their time and experience to help with a little extra preparation for the examinations which are quickly coming around.

We acknowledge that part of the preparation for exams is not only the academic challenge but also the stamina and strategies used to take the tests with a positive mindset and understanding. Staff are taking time to help students to understand the format of the exams and reading the questions during the school break to ensure that they feel comfortable and able to focus in a time that can be quite difficult.

It is hoped that the Easter revision sessions will give them more confidence in themselves and their abilities to continue to revise at home and face the examinations with the right attitude, feeling that they have done everything they can to do their best!

We look forward to seeing the results of their hard work and commitment.

Best Child Education & Care Centre Award 2019

The Private Education & Development Awards 2019 look to commend and acknowledge the efforts of all establishments, organisations and agencies around the world who make the education of our societies their main priority. This includes everything from early learning to adult education, all who make contributions to this vital sector can be recognised through these awards.

They reward outstanding contributions and we are delighted that our Oracle Silsoe School has been given such recognition.

The schools award is for 'Best Child Education & Care Centre - Bedfordshire'. Our dedicated staff work extremely hard with our pupils, families and external agencies. It is often the small things that keep them going... the smiles, thank yous and 'light bulb' moments you see on the pupils faces that make it all worth while, but it is nice to see that the time and commitment put in is recognised in such an amazing way.

An award to be very proud of and one which reflects the high expectations and child focused approach that Oracle takes with each and every young person.
