During these difficult times our dedicated teams are working around the clock to continue looking after our young people. To facilitate social distancing, our office based support staff will be working from home wherever possible and can be contacted using the numbers on our Contact Us page. We are still reviewing all referrals, offering placements where relevant, and planning for young people to move into our homes where it is safe to do so. Despite the challenges we all face during these testing times, we are committed to supporting you and our young people.
One of our home assistant managers teamed up with a young person to sign up to the challenge of this 70+ mile bike ride on 15 September to raise funds for Crisis.
Not content with the physical challenge, the pair also set about baking and held a cake sale at our offices in Wrest Park, raising a grand total of £136, which also went to Crisis.
They completed the cycle ride in a great time and were exhausted at the end of it, but pleased with their achievement, which was no mean feat!! Well done, both!
One of our homes is using Action for Happiness to focus each month on a different topic. This month they are working on self-compassion - coming up with ideas on how to be kinder not only to others, but also to themselves. The idea is that if we want to help others and create a happier world, it is important to remember to be kind to ourselves too. Self-care isn't selfish - it's essential! We look forward to hearing about examples of self-compassion.
